Frequently Asked Questions
-
I support all types of birth locations—home, hospital, or birth center. My goal is to help you feel confident, safe, and supported wherever you choose to give birth. Many of my clients plan natural hospital births and want someone there to advocate for their wishes while navigating the medical setting.
-
I live in Ball Ground, GA about 20 minutes from Northside Cherokee. I attend births in Cherokee County and the surrounding areas.
-
Absolutely. My role is to provide informational, physical, and emotional support as you make your decisions, not to push an agenda. Whether you plan to go unmedicated or want support getting through early labor before an epidural, I’ll help you feel prepared and cared for every step of the way.
-
We will get to know each other a bit and discuss topics like:
Your personal comfort strategy for labor (positions, breathwork, coping tools)
How to structure a birth plan that reflects your values and priorities
Tips for communicating clearly and confidently with your provider
Space to process fears, explore your options, and ask all your questions
These sessions are tailored to you—whether you’re feeling unsure, excited, or somewhere in between.
-
Definitely. Doulas don’t replace your primary support partner, whether that’s your husband, your mom, or another loved one—we work as a team. I help your partner feel more confident, offer guidance during labor, and free them up to rest, encourage you, or just be present in the moment.
-
In the rare event that I’m unavailable (due to illness, emergency, or another birth), I have a trusted backup doula ready to step in. We’ll go over all those details during our prenatal visits so you feel confident and covered.
(By the way - this has never happened to me so far!)
-
Yes and no. In my premium package, there are 6 included hours of private childbirth education which is a comprehensive birth class. In the regular prenatal visits of all of my packages, there is childbirth education woven into our discussion but it is not a comprehensive class - there simply isn’t enough time to cover everything. That being said, regardless of the package you choose I work hard to teach you the most relevant information with regard to your birth goals and any special circumstances.
For all packages, I provide printable handouts, cheat sheets, and resources to aid in learning and decision-making.
-
Usually, yes. Depending on how far along you are when you book me, this usually looks like splitting the package fee into 3 or 4 monthly payments. Payment in full is due by 36 weeks in order for me to officially go on call for your birth.
-
No! My faith in Jesus is at the center of my life and influences every decision I make both personally and as a doula, so you should be aware of that if it offends you. However, I am more than happy to support the births of those who do not share my faith, if you are open to it.
Learn how to run your own birth without apologizing or being coerced!
